What should I expect when I arrive at the Center?
On the day of your procedure, you should arrive approximately one and one-half hours before your scheduled surgery time to allow for admitting and preprocedure preparation. If you are scheduled at 7:00 am you should arrive at 6:00 am. We encourage you to come by the center before your surgery date to complete the registration paperwork in advance. This step will enable you to proceed to the Pre-Op area more rapidly on the day of your procedure.
You will be asked to sign a consent form for your procedure, which acknowledges your permission for the physician and facility to care for you. ***Please be sure to bring with you any paperwork completed in your physician's office pertaining to surgery which your physcian's office instructed you to bring to the center. **** If the patient is a minor, this form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian (proof of guardianship required). There will be numerous forms to sign and fill out regarding your health history.
You will be given an opportunity to read and sign an informed consent in which you are required to list family/friends with whom we can share healthcare information. To protect your privacy, and the privacy of other patients, only two people will be allowed in the treatment area at a time. The only people that will be allowed in the treatment area are the ones you list on the consent - which you will fill out in the registration area. If Clergy come in to see you, they will be allowed back, with your permission.
